it def was an eerie moment, there wasnt any humor there.

See it was moments like these that pissed me off the most about the movie. The Terminator is way too much like the previous, which doesn't make sense since it was destroyed. The writers couldn't decide whether or not to keep stone cold arnie from the first or the uncle bob character of the second.

what does that have to do with the "we'll meet again" quote? seriously.. it was a hint to him killing him in the future

Well, the way Arnold acted it out it sounded all friendly and nice like the t800 in t2 at the end. The character was way too close to the one in the second. movie.

Not true, terrific CGI and great scene.

Hopefully Arnie will star in T6 for him to be sent back through time by Skynet, John and Kate before John gets killed if he does which he might not cause he already knows and can change the future. Who knows what McG's thinkin'

We don't know for certain that it did actually kill them. It demonstrated the ability to lie to get psychological leverage, early on in the film. It could also have been made to believe it had, during the process of reprogramming.

That latter was what I always thought. Why would the guy see what he knows to be a machine, durin ghte war and let his personal defences down? My feeling was that they either gave the thing the message to send back, so that he'd be especially on his guard.

Either that or made an assumption of a kill, when the guy deliberately put himself out as bait and simply wore enough armour to prevent a death.

I'll give it to T3; it was an errie line. But by the time it was delivered I was way past caring.

In T2, when John sent the Terminator back in time... his learning mode was still inactive. Presumably, John would know about this in the alternate future talked about in T3. When Kate sends her reprogrammed Arnie back in time, learning mode would be active. With a little imagination, Arnie in T3 works out fine. Granted, it would have helped to throw in some dialogue.

I take "We'll meet again!" to remind John Connor that he will eventually meet another Arnie-Terminator.

I say it works on all levels reported in the thread; a line means what you bring to it, your own reaction. There is no right or wrong answer.

I love it, myself :)

or it could mean something else, the Terminator simply said this to give john courage and prevent him from wasting time worrying about what would happen to the T-850. The terminator knew he would probably die, and hinting john of this might of delayed him due to the emotionall attachment.
