Re watching the episode it made me think of something. We know she spends a lot of time with John in the future, what if when she said she was referring to his future self and not him?
I know there`s people on each side, ones like me who believe she really did overwrite her kill orders then when she said that and ones that don't and believe she only did it at the end of the episode.
But her love for future John could be why she said it.I mean at this point in the story its impossible to think she loves this John, but does anyone think she was referring to future John ?
Cameron reset to Skynet's original programming, but all of her memories were still intact. It knew that John has an emotional connection to Cameron, therefore it pleaded for John not to pull the CPU out, it even professed love for John. This was a last-ditch effort to emotionally manipulate John into freeing Cameron so that Cameron could then terminate John. He didn't catch on until Cameron professed, "I love you, John, and you love me!" That's what gave her away. At the end of the episode, Cameron tells Sarah, "Don't let him do it. If I go bad again, don't let him bring me back." That confirms the failed deception.
