I add my support for this.

If it is made into a DVD movie I sincerly hope they get somebody better to do the effects, like ILM. A TV series could get away with those telltale visual effects but not a feature film.

They can use Clay-mation for all I care. Whatever it takes to make it happen. :)

If they will do a DVD movie than okay. Do it. I don't really care, but I will watch it...but! I hope they will never make a TSCC movie for the cinema and for the big screen. I think Terminator has enough damage without this. Stay with the Direct DVD. And besides that, klasodeth already said what I wanted to say on that matter. Cancaled Terminator TV show will never get a greenlite, maximum only for DVD. With the unsuccesfull Terminator Salvation which earned less money than T3 (Which was still a huge dissapointment quality wise, just like TS..), there is no way this will has more than a DVD movie.

As much as I don't like TSCC I am curious how they want to close the story...but still...I think the franchise has already enough beating...

These are the interesting tidbits BAG mentioned or hinted:
> All of the actors are ready and willing to jump back into any continuation, though Lena is currently pregnant at the moment.
> They're pushing to involve Josh Friedman in the writing, but if he is unavailable they're planning to bring in Zach Stenz (and possibly Ashley Miller) and the writers from "Goodbye To All That" to work on it instead.
> James Middleton is in partnership with someone (unnamed) and they're working together to broker a deal for the future.
> A series isn't quite what they're aiming for. A DVD movie or even a proper film is their goal.
> The movie will continue the story exactly how it was supposed to, but they hope that if it's successful they can create a sequel to take it up a notch.
> When asked if fans could donate towards the project, Brian stated that this would be unnecessary as funding is available.

Woohoo!

That's outstanding news! Hope it actually pans out and we get something to watch in the future. Hopefully several somethings...

A DVD movie would be great.

Agreed, but only if it wraps up the story that was left incomplete because of the cancellation of the serie. Just 1 movie to finish the story.

That sounds more like a 4 episodes miniseries.

Season 3-- straight to DVD

While all these hints and rumors aren't as good as an official announcement or confirmation, they are better than an official dismissal of the idea!

I think I'd much rather prefer a miniseries that could successfully wrap up the series then a DVD movie that is trying to cram everything into a two hour period. With a mini series we'd actually get some proper spacing and story telling.

Personally I'm thinking of the twice canceled CBS show "Jericho". They were suppose to come back with a DVD movie after the first season in which they were canceled. But instead came back with a second season of 7 episodes that were arguably better than the first season. As the writers were allowed to wrap up several different story lines and bring things to a compelling and satisfying end in 7 hours of television rather than 2 hours on direct to DVD movie.

If I had a say in anything this is how I would like it to get done.

Do we have any more news on this front? I haven't seen anything in a while but I may have missed it, as I'm not able to check online every day.

I think the project is held up right now since all the actors are currently doing other projects. Most of them are all on new/different shows.

Lena - ASOFAI/Game Of Thrones
Dekker - shooting movie
Summer - The Cape
Brian - shooting movie/DH
Jones - shooting movie
Dillahunt - Raising Heroes
Jackson - General Hospital

Maybe they'll get a gap between projects and get the movie done...hopefully

The only news I've heard as of late is that Summer Glau recently confirmed at FanExpo that Dekker/BAG needlessly got everyone's hopes up for this project:

Me: HI SUMMER! I'M *****. O_O!

Summer: Hi, it's nice to meet you, *****. [shakes my hand]

Me: So um is the Terminator movie going to happen?

Summer: Ohh no sadly, we're all on different shows now so we can't do it..

Me: :O! ... but Thomas and Brian said that they were in talks of having it happen..

Summer: Yeah, they got everyone's hopes up but we can't do it.. but you never know, maybe in the future..

Well...that's disappointing! :( Maybe they can still secure the rights or the go ahead to make the movie. And then figure out how best to schedule all the actors to actually film it.
